Q. Is previous food experience necessary in order to be own a McAlister’s Deli® franchise?

A. Yes, for multi-unit franchisees. While you don’t specifically need to have foodservice experience, we do require that you have a member on your Management Team with multi-unit foodservice experience who would also have an equity stake in the business.

Q. How much training is provided in the McAlister's Deli® system of operations?

A. Up to four people must successfully complete our training course, which lasts approximately five weeks. This course provides training in front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house duties, customer service techniques, time management, ServSafe and CPR certification, and administrative procedures involved in operating a McAlister’s Deli® restaurant (i.e., food cost analysis, interviewing techniques, and Profit & Loss statement overviews).

Q. What form of ongoing support will I receive?

A. As a McAlister’s Deli® franchise owner, you will receive periodic visits from your Franchise Business Consultant who will provide guidance, support and answer any questions you may have. We are always a phone call away for answers to any questions that arise.

Q. What is the term of the typical McAlister's Deli® franchise agreement?
A. The term of the typical McAlister’s Deli® franchise agreement is 20 years. The franchise agreement is renewable for 10 years for an express restaurant and 20 years for a traditional restaurant, provided renewal criteria are satisfied.
